Unfortunately this is not a joke. An unprecedented attack has caused us to delay sending claims electronically to a 3rd party called a clearinghouse that then sorts claims for insurance companies and helps with the payment processing for most insurance companies. Unfortunately it is such a mess, that some claims will have to be sent by mail and many claims will be entered and billed 45-90 days late. What does this mean for patients? If you don’t receive an EoB (explanation of benefits) it could be a couple of months. Follow the link for more general information.
